FACEBOOK, JR EMISTON AND MY REPLY, DECEMBER 1 2021

JR Emiston:

I never call flat earthers conspiracy theorists. At best, I call them ill-informed. Many, not all, misunderstand scientific terms, such as ‘theory.’ Many, not all, are also guilty of poor English, which diminishes their (already severely limited) credibility

My Reply:

Does JR mean poor grammar? It appears JR has less of an understanding of communication than he would have others believe. Theory is not a term, rather a word. I could just as easily write that globers have no understanding of some scientific terms, as does JR, but JR totally missed the whole picture. Science is not just a few words, and theory is not scientific in the least. The whole picture is referred to as scientific methodology, and theory is only a beginning, wondering upon observation of change. Theory leads to hypothesis which is then proved or disproved by the whole process of isolating a variable, measuring before and after, setting up test and experimental conditions, collating, and interpreting data. Theory is totally void of data. Furthermore, when someone uses the term conspiracy theory, besides being clear they do not know what it is, they admit they have nothing except insult and a poor, worn-out cliché, a brazen attempt to distract from lack of data, measurements, the whole scientific process. It is an attempt to make ignorant believers of others. It is wrong, immoral, dishonest, and self-destructive. Those who “create” data by lying and insulting with name-calling, such as conspiracy theorist, are liars, not to be believed, trusted, or given a shred of credibility. Conspiracy theory name-calling is very much like crying wolf. It leaves the cryer vulnerable by his ir her own misguided, self-serving fabrications. Cry wolf 3 times and when a real wolf attacks, nobody helps. This simple postulate applies in everything. so when I am called a conspiracy theorist, I realize I am being assailed by a conspiracy theory theorist, that is totally ignorant of almost everything. And JR, basically called flat earth believers, conspiracy theorists. There is only one “side” of politics that runs away from a fight with the term “conspiracy theory”. Sad to be part of a losing “theory” that cannot present decent, honest arguments. I could not live as such a sub-human. I adjust when faced with reality. After all, isn’t the survival of the “fittest” idea, in reality, survival of those who adapt to change? I did believe the earth was a globe. Not sure now, especially since the biggest argument is to use distraction and insult, calling plane earth believers conspiracy theorists.
